Privacy Policy / Working Contract
General
My commitment to you is to put your interests first. These terms set out what we can expect of each other to ensure we work together effectively.
Sessional Arrangement fees
A session is either 60, 75 minutes or 90 minutes duration and the current fee is £45 for one hour, £55 for 75 minutes and £70 for 90 minutes.

Confidentiality
What is said between us is strictly confidential. This applies for life, after you have finished therapy. The only exceptions to this are: Safeguarding and supervision. Statutory law requires me to inform the relevant authorities of any information I may become aware of during our work together relating to terrorist activity, drug trafficking and child protection issues. In cases of medical emergency where I may have to contact a GP. There may be times when safeguarding you and others may take priority over confidentiality. In such situations I would normally consult with you first if this is legally possible. It is a requirement of my professional body that I receive personal supervision to make sure our work together meets professional and ethical standards. During this process client anonymity will be kept to ensure your privacy. Supervision is conducted in a safe and confidential environment.
Storage and Processing of Personal Data
Your personal data is stored within the current requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. I do not share your information with any other parties. I keep brief notes of our sessions to fulfil the requirements of my professional body and to monitor our work together.
Contact outside Sessions
Contact outside of sessions should normally be limited to email or text for the purposes of rearranging or cancelling sessions. Should you need to discuss aspects of our work together then we can arrange a suitable time to speak. However, if you need to make an additional appointment I will do my best to accommodate you. However, there may be times where I am out of signal for long periods of time and I will do my best to respond as soon as possible.
Emergency Contacts and Support
In case of emergencies or if you require support outside of our counselling sessions, it is recommended that you initially reach out to your GP (General Practitioner) for assistance. You may also consider contacting your local mental health team. For example, the South Lakeland Assessment and Recovery Mental Health Team (CMHART) can be reached at 01539 715013. If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, it is crucial to inform someone. You can confide in your family or friends about what you are going through. If communicating with family is challenging, you have several options available:
1. Contact your GP and request an emergency appointment. Out-of-hours GP support can be obtained by calling 03000 247247 or dialing 111.
2. The Samaritans operate a 24-hour helpline that provides emotional support. You can reach them at 08457 90 90 90 or 116 123.Should you need help or support outside the sessions you should initially contact your GP.
Appointments
I will attend all arranged appointments, except in the case of emergency/illness or other urgent circumstances. Outdoor session may need to change due to weather or driving conditions. Rescheduling or zoom/telephone will be provided as an alternative. If you cannot make an appointment I ask that you give 48 hours notice of cancellation. If less than this is given the full fee will be charged.

If an issue presents itself for you around the working contract, and there is something you wish to change or discuss please do not hesitate to mention it.
